DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]If you’ve ever gazed in despair at an enigmatic 1\,000-page set of construction drawings\, this training is for you! This training will help you navigate through them with confidence to find the information you need. We’ll cover the basics of how drawings are organized\, dated\, and revised. The speakers will also cover tags\, schedules\, and detail references so you can find doors\, equipment\, materials\, and other common items. This training will culminate in a test of wits and strength in a drawing-reading exercise. The intended audience is folks who need to read drawings occasionally and don’t have a formal background in building design or construction\, but all are welcome! \nSpeakers: \n\nErin Feeney\, LEED AP Associate\, David Baker Architects\nBryan Alcorn\, AIA Associate\, David Baker Architects\n\nModerator: \n\nKate Traynor\, Project Manager\, BRIDGE Housing\n\nLearn more about our speakers and moderator below! \nWhen: Wednesday\, March 22 | 12pm – 1:30pm PT \nWhere: Zoom[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row title=”Apply Today” style=”custom” gradient_color_1=”turquoise” gradient_color_2=”blue” gradient_custom_color_1=”#dd3333″ gradient_custom_color_2=”#eeee22″ gradient_text_color=”#ffffff” custom_background=”#ba5226″ custom_text=”#ffffff” outline_custom_color=”#666666″ outline_custom_hover_background=”#666666″ outline_custom_hover_text=”#ffffff” shape=”square” color=”grey” size=”md” align=”center” button_block=”” add_icon=”” i_align=”left” i_type=”fontawesome” i_icon_fontawesome=”fas fa-adjust” i_icon_openiconic=”vc-oi vc-oi-dial” i_icon_typicons=”typcn typcn-adjust-brightness” i_icon_entypo=”entypo-icon entypo-icon-note” i_icon_linecons=”vc_li vc_li-heart” i_icon_monosocial=”vc-mono vc-mono-fivehundredpx” i_icon_material=”vc-material vc-material-cake” i_icon_pixelicons=”vc_pixel_icon vc_pixel_icon-alert” custom_onclick=”” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.google.com%2Fforms%2Fd%2Fe%2F1FAIpQLSfUhy2pQJNEGOoNlugNOmD_VRrjudTFuZJ8Xwbx3wie5S_pBA%2Fviewform|||” custom_onclick_code=””][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nThis event is sold out. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nREGISTRATION AND REFUND INFORMATION\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCancellation/Refund Deadline: Sunday\, March 19 at 5pm PT\nRegistrants canceling their registration on or before Sunday\, March 19 at 5pm PT will receive a full refund. SUMMARY:ELPN Movie Night: Rebuilding Paradise
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nELPN is tuning into the SF Urban Film Fest! Grab your popcorn and join ELPN on Thursday\, February 18 at 5:30pm PST for a virtual watch party of Rebuilding Paradise. We’ll watch the film together and have a mini discussion right after.     \nAbout Rebuilding Paradise: On the morning of Nov. 8\, 2018\, a spark from a transmission line in Northern California\, coupled with climate-impacted conditions\, quickly grew into a devastating firestorm that engulfed the picturesque city of Paradise\, California. By the time the Camp Fire was extinguished\, it had killed 85 people\, displaced 50\,000 residents and destroyed 95% of local structures. It was the deadliest U.S. fire in 100 years — and the worst ever in California’s history. As residents faced the damage to their lives\, to their homes and to more than 150\,000 acres in and around their 141-year-old town\, they did something amazing: They worked together to heal. The community members went on to forge a bond stronger than what they had before the catastrophe\, even as their hope and spirit were challenged by continued adversity: relocations\, financial crises\, government hurdles\, water poisoning\, grief and PTSD. Learn more about the film here.  \nInterested in other films? The full SFUFF lineup includes many housing-related films and workshops\, including Survival by Zipcode. We encourage ELPNers to check out this virtual-friendly programming.  \nWhen: Thursday\, February 18 | 5:30pm PST \nWhere: Zoom Meeting \nClick here to register. To receive updates and announcements\, sign up for our e-newsletters. \nRegister before Tuesday\, February 16\n \nIf you have any questions about this event\, please email elpn.social@gmail.com.  \n [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:ELPN: How to Read a Drawing Set
DESCRIPTION:Join the Emerging Leaders Peer Network (ELPN) on July 25th for “How to Read a Drawing Set”. \nIf you’ve ever gazed in despair at an enigmatic 40-lb roll of construction drawings\, this training is for you! Drawing sets – the giant bundles of technical drawings used for permitting\, construction\, and maintenance – have a language and structure of their own. This training will help you navigate through them with confidence to find the information you need. We’ll cover the basics of how drawings are organized\, dated\, and revised. We’ll also cover tags\, schedules\, and detail references so you can find doors\, equipment\, materials\, and other common items. This training will culminate in a test of wits and strength with teams of attendees vying for goofy prizes in a drawing-reading competition. The intended audience is folks who need to read drawings occasionally and don’t have a formal background in building design or construction\, but all are welcome! \nSnacks and bad jokes will be provided. Afterwards\, we can toast the victors in a (non-hosted\, alas) happy hour nearby. \nSpeakers:\nMitchell Crispell\, Project Manager\, BRIDGE Housing\nErin Feeney\, LEED AP Associate\, David Baker Architects\nCaroline Souza\, LEED GAAssociate\, David Baker Architects \n\nEvent Information\nDavid Baker Architects (map)\n2135 San Pablo Ave\nOakland\, CA 94612 \nIf cost is an issue\, please email Caroline Souza.
