This bill establishes a new requirement for developers to track and report on the ownership and labor practices of the contractors they hire to build their projects\, if they utilize low-income housing tax credit funds. \nWhat will be the impact of AB 2873 on our industry and what will it take for successful implementation? \nJoin us alongside the Southern California Association of Non-Profit Housing (SCANPH) on Tuesday\, May 9 from 10:00-11:30-AM for: Strategies to Successfully Implement Supplier Diversity Goals. She ensures successful closing of real estate projects under approved project completion timelines and within board-approved budget limits. Ms. Wint also manages activities during the predevelopment\, development\, initial or construction closing\, construction\, and final closing stages. \nBefore working at IHO\, Ms. Wint worked at Los Angeles Housing Partnership (LAHP) for over seven years starting out as an Assistant Project Manager and working up to Senior Project Manager. In this role\, Amy advanced the Mayor’s goals of increased housing production and a stronger safety net for vulnerable and economically disadvantaged Angelenos\, using innovation\, streamlining\, inclusive planning policies\, and expanded financial resources to make them possible. Miriam began her career at SAHA in 2013 as the Director of Human Resources and Operations. Prior to SAHA\, Miriam served as the Director of Human Resources and Administration of Satellite Housing\, where she played key strategic role in the organization’s merger with Affordable Housing Associates to form SAHA. Prior to joining CEI\, she worked for the City of Oakland’s Housing and Community Development Department serving as the lead staff for the City’s affordable housing development Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) process\, and providing financing for a wide variety of affordable housing rental and ownership projects including new construction and rehabilitation of family\, senior\, and special needs housing. \nDiana has also worked as a Project Manager at the Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation\, where she was responsible for the rehabilitations of special needs housing developments. She has been active in local housing advocacy organizations\, including East Bay Housing Organizations and as a staff member at the Nonprofit Housing Association of Northern California. Diana received a master’s in city and regional planning from Rutgers University\, as well as a bachelor’s degree in community studies from UC Santa Cruz.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”44030″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_separator color=”custom” accent_color=”#304c8e”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”2/3″][vc_column_text el_class=”custom-text-editor”] \nConsuelo Hernandez\, Director\, Office of Supportive Housing\, County of Santa Clara\nAs the Director of the Office of Supportive Housing\, Consuelo Hernandez’s team works to support the County’s mission of promoting a healthy\, safe\, and prosperous community by ending and preventing homelessness. In her role\, Consuelo has overseen the implementation and administration of the County’s $950M Affordable Housing Bond and other housing development programs\, coordinated the countywide network of supportive housing programs\, and directed the lead agency for the local Continuum of Care. As a result of this work\, since 2015\, the County and its partners have helped nearly 20\,000 homeless adults\, families\, and children move into permanent housing and have expanded the number of new supportive housing units by approximately 2\,700. \nPrior to joining the County in 2015\, Consuelo served in various planning and development capacities in the City of Palo Alto and in Los Angeles County cities. Consuelo is a certified planner and a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP). In 2019\, Consuelo received an Impact Award from SPUR for her efforts to advance deeply affordable housing development throughout Santa Clara County. On a personal note\, Consuelo grew up in South East Los Angeles with her parents and five siblings. SUMMARY:SPUR: Modular Construction in Affordable Housing
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]One of the main constraints to affordable housing production in the Bay Area is rising construction costs. The cost for construction in the Bay Area has rapidly outpaced affordable housing funds\, thus rendering many projects infeasible. In 2019\, JPMorgan Chase awarded a grant to EBALDC to further research the benefits and constraints of using modular construction in order to reduce costs and accelerate affordable housing production in the Bay Area. This panel will discuss some of the findings of that research\, drawing on findings from several in-house projects\, as well as wider industry data and interviews with a wide range of practitioners in the field\, including affordable housing developers\, contractors\, architects\, lenders\, fabricators\, and insurance brokers.
