SUMMARY:Brown Bag Training: Powering Up\, Utility Impacts on Housing Costs
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \n\n\n\n\nAffordable Housing takes a whole village of professionals to implement\, but one major element that underpins housing is the utility infrastructure required to serve new developments. As we try to serve new communities with improved utility services and advance clean energy all-electric buildings\, the implementation and installation of electric infrastructure has become a critical piece of managing housing construction timelines and cost. How can we clarify and simplify the process of delivering electric infrastructure to communities and projects that need it while reducing time impacts and cost overruns? \n\n\n\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row title=”Apply Today” style=”custom” gradient_color_1=”turquoise” gradient_color_2=”blue” gradient_custom_color_1=”#dd3333″ gradient_custom_color_2=”#eeee22″ gradient_text_color=”#ffffff” custom_background=”#ba5226″ custom_text=”#ffffff” outline_custom_color=”#666666″ outline_custom_hover_background=”#666666″ outline_custom_hover_text=”#ffffff” shape=”square” color=”grey” size=”md” align=”center” button_block=”” add_icon=”” i_align=”left” i_type=”fontawesome” i_icon_fontawesome=”fas fa-adjust” i_icon_openiconic=”vc-oi vc-oi-dial” i_icon_typicons=”typcn typcn-adjust-brightness” i_icon_entypo=”entypo-icon entypo-icon-note” i_icon_linecons=”vc_li vc_li-heart” i_icon_monosocial=”vc-mono vc-mono-fivehundredpx” i_icon_material=”vc-material vc-material-cake” i_icon_pixelicons=”vc_pixel_icon vc_pixel_icon-alert” custom_onclick=”” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.google.com%2Fforms%2Fd%2Fe%2F1FAIpQLSfUhy2pQJNEGOoNlugNOmD_VRrjudTFuZJ8Xwbx3wie5S_pBA%2Fviewform|||” el_class=”custom-button” custom_onclick_code=””][vc_column][vc_btn title=”Register Today” style=”custom” custom_background=”#ba5226″ custom_text=”#ffffff” shape=”square” align=”center” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fcvent.me%2FPeKVoG|target:_blank” el_class=”custom-button”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_text_separator title=”Speakers”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_single_image image=”56493″ style=”vc_box_circle_2″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″][vc_column_text]Jacob Goldstein\nProject Manager\, Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation (TNDC) \nJacob Goldstein joined TNDC in 2018. SUMMARY:Brown Bag Training: Making State Oversight More Equitable
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Recently\, cities across Northern California have incorporated the state mandate to Affirmatively Further Fair Housing (AFFH) into their housing elements. First passed in 2018\, California state AFFH law requires cities to promote access to opportunity\, integration\, transformation of underinvested communities\, and compliance with fair housing law. \nIn some ways\, the AFFH mandate transformed the nature of the housing element\, causing cities to implement a suite of production\, preservations\, and protection policies that previously would have never been on the table. In other ways\, AFFH rules failed to hold cities accountable\, leaving some of their most exclusionary practices in place. \nThis workshop brings together local advocates from across our region to discuss the promise of AFFH and opportunities to further increase its impact.
