Affordable Housing Finance Consultant – Community Economics (Oakland, CA)
Community Economics, Inc. (CEI) provides technical assistance to nonprofit housing organizations and public agencies in the financing and development of affordable homes for low-income people and advocates for policy change at the local and state levels. CEI assists clients with financial analysis and project strategy for urban, suburban and rural rental properties, from conceptual stages of development through completion of construction and commencement of operations.
With appropriate training, the Consultant will build up to a full workload including several clients developing multiple affordable rental properties. Duties will include:
- Financial structuring of new projects to determine appropriate funding sources such as Low- Income Housing Tax Credits, tax-exempt bonds, Rural Development, McKinney homeless programs, Federal Home Loan Bank Affordable Housing Program (AHP), State of California (or other state) loan programs, local funding programs, and rental or operating subsidies;
