Controller – Burbank Housing (Santa Rosa, CA)
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Controller will be responsible for oversight of all finance, accounting and reporting activities. The Controller will be involved in supporting presentations to the board finance and audit committees and will work closely with the senior leadership team. The Controller will lead all day-to-day finance operations of over 60 entities and supervise a team of eight staff members including functional responsibility over accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and grants administration.
The Controller will ensure that Burbank has the systems and procedures in place to support effective program implementation and conduct clean audits. The Controller will work closely with department directors, program managers and their staffs, to educate them regarding finance and accounting procedures, and explore how the finance function can support program operations.
The position is responsible for the timely processing of monthly account reconciliation and preparation of financial and cash flow statements for Burbank and affiliated entities. The not-for-profit accounting will include governmental and corporate grants, in compliance with GAAP grant requirements and program needs. The real estate development and property management accounting will include coordinating real estate project and property management accounting needs in compliance with regulatory and investor requirements.
