Regional Policy & Solutions

The Bay Area’s affordable housing crisis touches every single person in the Bay Area. Unaffordable rents and home prices in the Bay Area are pushing out many long time residents and forcing our workers farther from job centers and our vulnerable communities farther from their networks of support.

NPH’s Regional Program is geared towards promoting affordable housing solutions across the nine Bay Area counties. We work with members, allies, and supporters and with the Bay Area’s land use and transportation planning agencies to promote innovative affordable housing solutions for all 101 cities and 9 counties.

Our work includes advocating for a more inclusive Plan Bay Area with bold affordable housing solutions, building coalitions across the region to promote the use of public and surplus land for affordable housing, and promoting good policy for the production and preservation of affordable homes and protections for tenants facing displacement. We invite you to learn more and get involved below!
