The Director of Preservation (the “Director”) will lead the strategy, policies, and practices related to MOHCD’s preservation and bond programs. Reporting to the Deputy for Housing, the Director will collaborate closely the senior management team, other MOHCD managers and external partners. The Preservation team is responsible for deploying MOHCD funding to proactively preserve San Francisco’s existing multifamily housing stock and managing the housing division’s multifamily financing programs. Three key focus areas include: 1) Preserving MOHCD’s existing portfolio of affordable housing assets, 2) Acquiring and preserving at-risk multifamily buildings, and 3) Bond Program management. MOHCD’s preservation programs prevent displacement of City residents, ensure facilities are safe and habitable for our tenants, fund critical and long-term capital needs, and extend expiring and out-of-date use-restrictions. The Bond Program is the principal funding source for the City’s affordable housing programs.
