Collaborate in Community

Deepen your engagement with the NPH community and help promote bold and meaningful affordable housing solutions for our region!

NPH convenes working groups to bring together members to take action, develop strategies, and advance solutions on critical affordable housing and racial justice issues. Our working groups inspire collaboration and amplify the voice of key stakeholders while furthering understanding across the sector. We offer several working groups for our members to advance our collective vision of a Bay Area where everyone has a safe, stable, and affordable home:

Legislative Issues Committee

Help NPH shape our legislative priorities! Formed in 1983, the Legislative Issues Committee discusses issues related to housing policy, funding, and programs on the regional, state, and federal levels, and makes preliminary recommendations to guide and inform NPH’s position on each issue. The group typically meets monthly.

Strategic Communications Council

Calling all communicators! NPH’s Strategic Communications Council (SCC) is open to all NPH members working in communications. The group meets quarterly to discuss relevant communications topics, share best practices, and work toward aligning our messaging to provide various audiences with clear, consistent messages about the Bay Area affordable housing movement and build public support.

Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) Working Groups

These groups meet to better understand the full costs of providing PSH, generate consensus on best practices, and develop a collective advocacy agenda to improve the PSH ecosystem for consumers and developers/owners.

  • Standards of Quality Workgroup This group focuses on standardizing PSH nomenclature and developing quality standards and outcome metrics to evaluate PSH efficacy and efficiency.
  • Advocacy Workgroup This group is working to develop a compelling advocacy agenda that directs funding to operations and reduces complexity in the funding and referral environments.
  • Data Stewardship Workgroup This group is gathering and analyzing anonymized data to demonstrate the connection between PSH costs and resident outcomes.

Email NPH Senior Policy Manager J.T. Harechmak at jt@nonprofithousing.org to sign up for any of these PSH working groups!
