We’re looking for individuals of all abilities, incomes, and backgrounds to help us envision what a truly inclusive community looks like.
In this workshop — supported by faculty from Stanford’s d.School and community leaders — we’ll define key design elements, housing models, and community values that support inclusive housing. First, you will be paired with a “use case,” a Bay Area resident with specific housing needs and preferences. You’ll work with them, and your team, to design their ideal home and community. In the afternoon, we’ll take what each team designed for an individual, and think broadly about how to combine diverse individuals needs and preferences together into one inclusive city. You’ll have the opportunity to share your inclusive community ideas with leading experts in transit, housing, design, and policy and explore feasibility and implementation strategies. Finally, we’ll all come together to think about the ways to make our vision for inclusive communities a reality in our cities. (Download the Full Schedule Here)
The workshop will take place in San Francisco’s Mission neighborhood at 1499 Potrero. It is a short walk from the 24th Street BART.
