Are You Ready to Vote for Housing?
October 5, 2016

Here’s your biweekly roundup of campaign activities, and how you can make the difference for re-investment in affordable homes around the Bay Area. With 52 days to go, housing advocates are stepping up with generous contributions of time, talent and treasure. Thanks to everyone for all you are doing. Keep it up!

First Community Housing hosted NPH and members in San Jose on September 7 and 14, pictured above. Geoff Morgan opened the initial meeting. Leigh Ann Brenneke of Eden Housing spoke about outreach at 81 properties, setting voter registration goals, and training staff for voter education. FCH’s Monica Nanez & Cassandra Witthau presented a detailed plan to engage residents through multiple service providers, in multiple languages. Peggy Huffstutler, LifeSTEPS curriculum specialist, shared their newsletter and instructor discussion guide for October and voter education. At our second meeting, resident services coordinators from Christian Church Homes, Housing Choices Coalition, John Stewart Company, and First Community Builders met with PACT to discuss voter registration.
