Housing is once again on the ballot this election, but unlike in years past, when big statewide propositions dominated, this year is all about local measures.

There are 52 ballot initiatives related to housing across California, and 21 of them are in the Bay Area, according to UC Berkeley’s Terner Center for Housing Innovation.

“This is a top priority for voters in communities across the state,” said Amie Fishman, executive director of the Non-Profit Housing Association of Northern California. “Local communities are saying, ‘We need these solutions.’”
