“Apple has committed over $400 million to housing programs after a $2.5 billion pledge last November.

“The Cupertino tech giant said the commitment will help fund over 1,250 new Bay Area affordable housing units and aid thousands of first-time California home buyers.

“Amie Fishman, executive director of the Non-Profit Housing Association of Northern California, an advocacy group, said she wants Apple and other tech companies to increase their housing commitments in the wake of the pandemic.

““Tech companies have done very well at a time when huge numbers of people are suffering,” she said. “Now is the time for them to invest and do more.””
