STATEMENT FROM NPH EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AMIE FISHMAN ON HOUSING PACKAGE BILL VOTES TODAY

Just now, the Senate voted to concur in the amendments on a number of the housing bills passed out of the State Assembly late last night, to finalize the housing package and send it to Governor Brown for his signatures. This housing package includes critical funding measure SB 2 and SB 3.

“Today’s votes are vital steps in addressing our state’s housing catastrophe. But as all Californians know – and Bay Area residents especially – we didn’t get into this housing crisis overnight, and it will take continued effort to identify and bring forward solutions.

Housing is a critical issue for California residents and a priority issue for voters. It is crucial that the Governor sign the housing package the Legislature has now sent him, and that our leaders continue their work to re-invest in our communities and create more affordable housing for our seniors, our veterans, people with disabilities, and hardworking families.”
