The Community Advocacy and Voter Engagement (CAVE) certification program, offered to all resident staff of NPH member organizations, is a professional development opportunity that provides timely and impactful training on how to become and work as an advocate in your community. Participants gain skills in affordable housing advocacy and community engagement strategies as well as obtain a basic knowledge of housing policy topics.

Participants will walk away with:

  • Knowledge of the history of affordable housing organizing in the Bay Area
  • Digital organizing skills
  • Leadership strategies
  • Tools to engage your residents in advocacy, voting, and other activities geared toward housing and racial justice

After completing our CAVE certification, resident services staff will have access to exclusive paid honorarium opportunities to be featured in NPH programming and showcase their work, as well as be a part of civic and legislative engagement efforts at the regional & state level.

The next CAVE cohort convenes April 2022! Register here.

CAVE has come a long way! View our progress on our colorful CAVE timeline.

Are you CAVE alumni from 2020-2021? Do you want to share your best practices and leadership style tips with Resident Services staff across the Bay Area Region? Apply to be a CAVE guest speaker and receive a $300 Honorarium for your participation!
