Excitement, concern, and nearly 100 housing advocates filled the room on March 17 as Alameda County Supervisors hosted the first stakeholder meeting on a proposed $500 million bond for affordable homes, proposed for this November’s ballot. Supervisors Wilma Chan and Nate Miley spoke to the urgent need for greater affordability. The moment we've all been waiting for, Election Day on Tuesday, November 8 is almost here! If you vote by mail, make your choices (we recommend YES on housing measures in San Mateo, Alameda and Santa Clara Counties!), and if you vote at the polls, find your polling place and make a plan for when to vote (and did we mention YES on housing measures?). Whichever method you choose for casting your own vote, helping others make their voices heard and their votes counted is critically important.

NPH members played a role in this increase. We achieved a 15% increase in voter registration in our database through improved addressing data, and registration drives among residents on properties across the Bay Area.

While final vote counts are still days away, unofficial results signal that voters supported the three Bay Area county-level housing measures that would provide safe, healthy, affordable homes for thousands of people.
