As a kid and young adult, Saniko Togafau spent time in no shortage of San Francisco neighborhoods. She started life in the Excelsior and her family bounced between the Bayview, Visitacion Valley and Potrero Hill. She moved to Antioch with her three sons for a while and spent 20 years working for United Playaz, the South of Market anti-violence and youth education nonprofit. The construction of 120 affordable apartments on a city-owned parking lot in downtown Mountain View is officially underway after facing years of financial struggles to get built.
